If you love summer flavors and easy desserts, then this 4 Ingredient Lemon Blueberry Dump Cake is for you! It only has 4 ingredients and bursting with flavor! We’ve had it twice now and has fast become a family favorite! Traditional dump cake is usually made with cherry pie filling, but I found the lemon pie filling in my cupboard and thought it would make a nice alternative with some fresh blueberries.
4 Ingredient Lemon Blueberry Dump Cake
- 1 Box Yellow or White Cake Mix
- 1 Can Lemon Pie Filling
- 1-2 Cups Fresh Blueberries
- 1 Stick of Butter
Top the pie filling with the fresh blueberries in an even layer.
In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter butter. If you cut the butter into slices, it will melt faster and more evenly. I also like to leave it out for awhile to soften, then I prefer to melt on “defrost” setting for 30 second intervals, until melted, so the butter doesn’t get too hot.
Combine the melted butter with the cake mix and stir until crumbly.
Spread cake and butter mixture evenly over the top of the pie filling and blueberries. I literally crumbled it over the top with my fingers.
Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Begin checking at about 30-35 minutes, especially if you oven runs hot. Once the top is golden brown, it is done! Remove from the oven and allow the Lemon Blueberry Dump Cake to cool for at least 15-20 minutes before serving. The creamy lemon filling will be too hot to eat right away.
Serve with whipped cream, a scoop of vanilla ice cream or enjoy it alone! We ate the cake on its own and it was fantastic!

I love using boxed cake mix as a hack but haven’t tried it like this. Love the blueberry/lemon combo!
