Sipping my Tropical Protein Smoothie takes me back to last summer when I visited Hawaii! The island breeze, warm sun and tropical fruit! YUM! While there, I had the BEST pineapple smoothie. I’m not sure what was in it, but it sure was delicious! Since then, I’ve tried to come up with something close and haven’t quite figured it out, because I think it may be the fresh Hawaiian pineapple that makes the difference. In the mean time, I’ve come up with this Tropical Protein Smoothie which is a great alternative! Great for breakfast, post workout, and even an afternoon pick-me-up! Its so good!

Tropical Protein Smoothie
- 1 Cup Water
- 1 Scoop Vanilla Protein Powder
- 6oz Container Vanilla Greek Yogurt
- 1/2 Cup Frozen Pineapple
- 1/2 Cup Frozen Mango
- 1/2 Small Banana
- 1 TSP Coconut Coco Chips
In a blender, start with 1/2 cup water, vanilla protein powder and vanilla Greek yogurt. In the past, I have always been told that you should always add water before protein powder (or other ingredients that may be difficult to blend) in a blender. Something about the motor working too hard? Anyway, I always add some liquid first. Next add the frozen fruit and the half of a banana. Blend on low until the ingredients begin to combine. Then add the coconut chips and the remaining 1/2 cup of water, a little at a time, until smooth. Continue to blend another minute or two. Divide into 2 glasses. If desired, garnish with a few slices of banana and some additional Coco Chips. Enjoy!
*You could make this smoothie without the protein powder and it would be just as delicious!
