We(I) have such a busy schedule and it is really challenging to get the whole house cleaned on my own. The easiest way to get my family to participate is to create a competition to see who could get the most chores done in 30 minutes. I make a list of chores and cut them into strips, then place them in a bowl. We each grab a task and set the timer. Ready, set, GO!
Once we select our tasks, the timer is set and the fun begins!
My daughter and my husband both picked tasks that involved vacuuming. One was to vacuum the downstairs and the other was to vacuum the upholstery. My girls and I have long hair and we are amazed at how much we shed. In addition, we have 3 little dogs that shed like 3 giant dogs and they jump on the sofa each time we leave the room! The amount of hair that we leave behind requires the use of a vacuum very often.
No one in my family is a big fan of vacuuming. Until now, that is! Let me explain! Not only was the roller tangled all the time, but I had to trim and pull the hair and strings out in between rooms. And if that wasn’t bad enough, the hair would get trapped way up in the canister and there was no access to get it. I had to jam my hand as far up as I could to pull out whatever I could reach without breaking the canister. (Or my hand!) Then I read that the Eureka Brushroll Clean™ with Suction Seal® has a SELF-CLEANING BRUSHROLL feature! No more trimming and pulling out wads of hair! This sounded amazing!
My previous vacuum:
When I first heard about the Eureka Brushroll Clean™ with Suction Seal®, I was very intrigued and a little skeptical. Once your hand has been stuck in a vacuum, actions speak louder than words! I really wanted to put the Eureka Brushroll Clean™ with Suction Seal® to the test, so I didn’t vacuum for a few days to see what this vacuum was made of! That, and I let my kids brush the dogs in the living room!
The challenge was fun. We got really competitive and it looked like we were cleaning in time-lapse mode! The shutters and baseboards were dusted, floor was swept, counters wiped down, sink, stove and microwave were scrubbed. Then the downstairs bathroom was wiped down, and towels were changed and the carpet & upholstery were vacuumed. When the timer went off, my youngest completed the most tasks and was declared the winner! For her prize, she selected a root beer float! We always have fun with cleaning challenges. Mid-week, we will often do a 15 minute challenge to tidy up the house. It works so well because everyone pitches in and the housework gets done! Its amazing what 4 people can accomplish in 30 minutes!
So let me tell you about the vacuum! After the challenge was over, I brought it upstairs and vacuumed my vanity area where the 3 of us blow-dry and style our hair. Here is the brush roll afterwards. All I can say is WOW! I need one of these vacuums. I am amazed at how it sucks all the hair away. There is nothing worse than having to cut out the hair from the rollers, like I do with my vacuum!

My vacuum is always filled with hair between the dogs and my hair. This is a great feature to have on a vacuum
