Easy Enchilada Sauce

Once you make this Easy Enchilada Sauce, you will never buy canned again!

Easy Enchilada Sauce

Last night I whipped up an easy enchilada sauce that was so good, I will never buy it again! My family loved it and what I loved is that there is almost no fat in it all all. If you’ve made enchilada sauce before, you know that it usually calls for at least 1/4 cup of oil, if not more, and flour. This recipe has no oil or flour, so it is gluten free! It is rich and packed full of flavor.

Easy Enchilada Sauce

  • Tomato Sauce, 8 oz can
  • Tomato Paste, 6 oz can
  • Beef Broth, 1 1/2 Cups
  • Chili Powder, 2 TBSP
  • Cumin, 2 tsp
  • Fresh Grated Onion, 1 tsp (or 1/2 tsp powder)
  • Fresh Crushed Garlic, 1/2-1 clove (or 1/4 tsp powder)
  • Oregano, 1 tsp dried
  • Salt, 1/4 – 1/2 tsp *

*Depending on how salty your beef broth is, you may adjust or eliminate adding salt to recipe

Combine all ingredients in a small sauce pan with a whisk, until smooth. Simmer on low-med heat for about 10 minutes. You can make this recipe ahead of time too. Refrigerate unused portion in airtight container.

And thats it!
