So maybe this considered to be wall art, more than a Halloween BOO “wreath”. I’ve been seeing several Halloween BOO wreaths on so many blogs and boards, that I decided to try one of my own. I’m not crafty, so it was a bit of a challenge for me, but it turned out well enough for me to actually hang up! I began with the wooden, unfinished letters from Hobby Lobby, for $2.49ea. I also bought 3 small bottles of acrylic paint – black, orange and “glow in the dark”. Each bottle was under $1.50. My initial thought was to paint the letters black and do orange and glow in the dark polka dots. As you can see in this photo, neither worked over this black paint. I hoped that doing stripes would allow me to have more even layers of paint and that it would show up brightly, but that didn’t work either.. It was bright enough that you could actually see the stripe in this photo, but most of the time, its not really visible unless you’re close up.
The pick at the top was on sale for $1.49, but it came without the feathers. I pulled those from the kid’s craft box, along with some leftover ribbon (from when they were young enough to wear hair bows) The ghost stickers were $3.99 but I had a 40% off coupon. This was a very quick project. The paint dried very quickly, so I was able to tie them together and glue on the pick on the ghosts within an hour. Here is my end result. This project was so easy, I will likely make something similar for Christmas!
